Stephen Gillard

Stephen’s directing career began on the stage, with his local Shakespeare company. Building up a list of directing credits, including shows such as One Man Two Guvnors, The Importance of Being Earnest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Stephen decided to make the jump into film directing. His first film, In Umbra Eius Ignis, won Official Selection at the FFTG Awards in New York in 2021. Based in Lincoln, Stephen is Artistic Director of The Blue Room, an independent theatre, and set up rep theatre company The Asylum Players to work with established and emerging talent on and off stage. Stephen is also a writer, and co-wrote Fury's recent show Abigail.
